A Natural Remedy for Arthritis – Take A Mineral Bath!
Another great natural remedy to help your arthritis is to take a mineral bath! Natural springs offer some of the most therapeutic baths straight from the earth. Minerals like sulfur, sodium, calcium and magnesium are found there.
Sulfur, which is found in every cell of the body contains cartilage and synovial fluid. People with arthritis generally have low sulfur levels in their joints. Bathing in sulfur –rich water helps relieve pain and may help with the formation of cartilage. It is also known as “nature’s beauty mineral” since it aids the body in making collagen for elasticity and young looking skin!
If you can’t make it to a natural spring then you can add it to your bath. Take 1 – 2 oz of potassium sulfate and add it to a full tub of water (about 30 gallons). The temperature should be between 95% and 102%F. Soak in it for 10 – 20 minutes. Hopefully you will notice some improvement right away.
A mineral rich combination of clay, anti-inflammatory herbs and paraffin wax is called fango. Fango is especially helpful for arthritis sufferers. The fango clay is heated and applied as a heat pack to problem joints and muscles. The clay molds to the body so that the botanicals and healing minerals (like sulfur) are absorbed into the skin. It also allows the body to rid itself of waste products as the pores open up and the capillaries enlarge, which increases metabolic activity and blood flow.
